Visiting the CIP Orchid Lounge, Da Nang

I recently flew from Da Nang to Singapore, and I visited the CIP Orchid Lounge at Da Nang International Airport before I left. Here’s information about the lounge, and my experience of visiting it as a solo traveler.

My Experience

I decided to buy a pass for this lounge because buying food and coffee from a restaurant in the airport would’ve worked out to be about the same as the lounge pass anyway (it is VERY expensive there). PLUS this way I’d have somewhere quiet to sit before my flight. I decided to go to CIP Orchid Lounge 1 because it’s bigger and had slightly better reviews online.

Lounge pass

Buying a pass was very easy. I went up to the little desk on the first floor and purchased a pass from the staff there after showing my boarding pass. They accepted credit card (no extra fee) and gave me this paper pass with a date/time stamped on it.

I then took it upstairs (on an elevator) and showed the pass to the staff at the desk just outside the lounge, and they waved me into the main part of the lounge.

This is maybe the nicest lounge I’ve been to yet! It’s absolutely huge. They have tons of seating, including little “pods” and special computer desk tables. It wasn’t busy at all when I visited, so I was able to get any table I wanted and just relax for a few hours before my flight.

I will say that the food, while varied, wasn’t amazing. It was typical of other airline lounge food I’ve had– maybe put in the warmer a little too long, or reheated from frozen. But it was nice to have so many options available, and they did a great job keeping the buffet area clean and looking nice.

The staff were great, too! There was a bartender, a few people wandering around cleaning up plates from tables, two people refilling the buffet, two people at the front desk and a greeter once you got inside.

The internet was fast enough that I was able to get some work done and stream a video/listen to music. Overall it was a really nice visit and I’m glad I got a pass to go in before my flight.
